What Was in That Trailer Before?
Out in Utah, locals found an "abandoned" mobile home that was completely filled with a massive, massive, yellowjacket hive.
They figure it took 5 years to build, and contained about 200,000 buggers. A normal nest has 5000. And they sent one poor sap in to deal with it...

so this means that yellowjackets are capable of constructing, at the risk of using too weak a word, a megalopolis? like, they didn't just decide to do this 'cause they found a trailer. they've done this before and they'll do it again. in fact, there have to be hundreds of these enormous colonies in various abandoned structures...
to be frank, i'm abjectly terrified.
