MANILA, December 19, 2003 (STAR) The government will allow German prosecutors to interrogate alleged Abu Sayyaf "terrorist" leader Ghalib Andang, President Arroyo said yesterday, but dismissed any talk of extradition as premature.
Andang, alias Commander Robot, was captured in the southern Philippines this month, more than three years after allegedly leading an Abu Sayyaf raid on the Malaysian island of Sipadan to take a group of 21 hostages, including a German family of three.
A court in Goettingen reportedly said this week it wanted Manila to extradite Commander Robot so that he could be tried for the abduction of the Wallert family, whose members were among a group of European tourists held for several months in Jolo, Sulu.
"Commander Robot may be facing charges in Germany but he will face the music in the Philippines first," Mrs. Arroyo said in a written statement.
"We assure the German government that Commander Robot will be secured and available for questioning by their probers, but talk about his extradition is premature.

I dunno....no matter how much power he has, i don't think i could ever take someone who calls themself "commander robot" seriously.
