Okay all, looks like we're actually going to have 7 or 8 people at poker night tonight! By my estimation, the only people that are up in the air about showing up are Rob Roan and Fishel. If anyone knows if they're coming, by all means, let me know. Also, apparently Kochis is bringing his boss to play as well. Should be interesting.
Anyway, if people could bring snacky-type things, or maybe bottles of coke or some such, that would be cool, since we don't have much snack food at the place.

True enough. I was talking to mike, and if EVERYONE comes, including new people that said they might, it looks like we may set a new poker night record of 10 people.
If this is the case, i'm thinking maybe we should try doing it tourney-style, and pay out the top 3 positions. Either way, we'll have to play 2 games...any thoughts, gentlemen?
We've had that many people before, once, long ago. I think we'll manage. I don't think tournament style would be a good idea...
Either way, it's gonna be a bunch. If everyone who says they "might" show up actually does (the only three i have up in the air right now are rob roan, fishel, and ben), there will actually be 11 people there. So any way we do it, we're probably gonna have to run 2 games.
On a side-note, i'm going to a MCSE training seminar before poker tonight. It starts at 6, and supposedly lasts less than an hour, so i should be home well ahead of time. Just thought i'd put that up for anyone who decides to show up early.

Feezer follows up with a quip either pointing out that he doesn't care, so long as the fools employing him will give him more money in exchange for aforementioned certification; or he calls me a communist/homosexual for running Linux. Well, it's not that i don't care, it's more the education that i'm valuing here than the name that's being applied to it. I think it's probably the best way to get training on server 2003, which i desperately need...it just happens that i get a cert to go along with it. And if i can get that for free, then heck yeah i'm gonna do it.
And actually, i'm not gonna decry linux...half of JHU's server boxes run linux. I just fear and loathe what i don't understand. X/ux certs are probably the next thing on my list. Either that or Cisco. I haven't decided.
To summarize, i'm getting $22,000 in training free of charge. I'm lovin' that.

uh...you guys see that episode of 'smallville?' the one where they find the indian caves depicting the whole superman legend? and that piece of the spaceship totally fits in that hole in the wall, like a key? well, 'smallville' is really 'taking off.' actually, it is pretty good for a show on the wb about superheroes. I really like the cast, and the writing is pretty good too...

Oh, don't worry, that fucking key and the stupid cave will be the backdrop for almost every "story arc" episode from here on out. The key will be stolen, lost, launched into space, possessed by evil, etc. Actually, you're probably hitting what was the highpoint of the series so far, with the writing starting to dwindle soon after. Maybe it'll be back to par next season... time will tell...

Yeah, the teenage mortality rate is pretty damn high in Smallville. You'd think the state government would take notice of the figures and step in or something. Maybe they get scared off by all the glowing green rocks. Or maybe the rate of gang shootings in Metropolis is just way higher...
I think it's like Sunnydale from Buffy in that respect. The state government knows about it, they just don't say anything, because they're in league with some nefarious uber-being, or something like that.
I hope it's not too late for me to say that Smallville sucks without any justification at all.
