So When You Say "Arts District..."

So I heard on the radio this morning that the Everyman Theater was recently denied permission by the city to expand into the abandoned remains of the Chesapeake Restaraunt. Instead, in light of the fact that the Mayor has declared Station North the "arts and culture" district, they instead awarded development rights to that building to a company who is going to build a high-rise apartment on the location. That just makes so much fucking sense. Discuss!

'everyman' is lame. and it is a good place for apartments. so i guess i come down on, what? the republinazi side?

besides, how was 'everyman' going to expand around 1000ft. of businesses into the chesapeake?

honestly, a bigger 'everyman' brings more of you county hounds driving down here, whereas an apartment building starts to close the unsightly, depopulated wound that is charles village south / station north / whatever the fuck new name they'll invent.
